## Summary

The Bassetlaw Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is currently engaged in an active procurement process to extend its Extended Access GP services across Bassetlaw, North Nottinghamshire. The contract, valued at £50,613, aims to support continuity of care from April 2022 until October 2022, following a national delay in the proposed transfer of service provision to Primary Care Networks. The procurement method employed is a limited procedure, awarding the contract directly to three existing suppliers: Larwood and Bawtry PCN, Newgate Medical Group, and Retford and Villages PCN, supporting the integration of local services efficiently. Key details can be accessed through the CCG's official website.

This extension of the GP services contract presents a significant opportunity for businesses within the healthcare sector, particularly those providing medical services or solutions that improve the integration of care. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can enhance patient access, streamline communication among healthcare providers, or deliver innovative healthcare solutions will be well-positioned to compete in future tendering opportunities within the NHS framework. The emphasis on maintaining high satisfaction levels among patients indicates a favourable environment for companies that can offer effective and reliable services in this market.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The intention is for this service to continue from April 2022 until October 2022 and to continue 3 contracts, one for each of the 'Primary Care Network' populations in Bassetlaw. Government intention is that following that time Extended Access provision will be transferred to the primary care networks on a permanent basis. This contract extension reflects the fact that the transfer has bee nationally delayed from its intended date, April 2022 This intention is based on the following The CCG considers it is clearly in the interests of continuity of care and integration with other local services to award these contract directly to groups of Bassetlaw GP practices, who form Primary Care Networks known as 'Primary Care Homes' together with other local partners. This should ensure services are provided in a joined up way, as seamless as possible compared to 'in hours' provision from the perspective of both the patient and other healthcare professionals / organisations. This will simplify communication and patient pathways, significantly reducing clinical risk This will reduce information governance issues, as primarily the patient record will be accessed by the patient's own GP practice, or by another local practice with the patients consent. Satisfaction ratings relating to access to local GPs are already amongst the highest in the country, and we consider this is the best and most proportionate way of further developing this This approach will best support the clinical benefits of the extended hours service having access to the 'patient list' and patients' GP records by using current providers, collaborating closely with other local services through their primary care home links. The total value of the three contracts for the extension period is: Retford & Villages PCN PS75,139 Larwood & Bawtry PCN PS50,613 Newgate Medical Group PS42,640
