## Summary

The University of Ulster is seeking to procure Static Medical Imaging Equipment valued at £237,645, under a limited tendering method. This procurement falls within the goods category, specifically classified as a Diagnostic X-ray system (CPV code: 33111800). The contract involves purchasing new equipment for the clinical training of radiography students, alongside decommissioning and relocating existing equipment from the Jordanstown campus to the Magee campus. The award of the contract is active, with the procurement process recently concluded on April 14, 2022, following a mandatory 10-day standstill period for appeals.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses in the medical imaging and healthcare equipment sectors, particularly those involved in the manufacturing and maintenance of diagnostic systems. Companies that specialise in medical imaging technology, as well as those offering logistical services for equipment transportation and installation, would be well-suited to compete. Engaging with the University of Ulster could enhance a company's reputation within the healthcare sector, as well as facilitate broader collaborations in educational and research contexts.

Options: It is anticipated that the contract for the purchase of new equipment and the relocation of existing equipment will be a one-off purchase. A contract for planned preventative maintenance will be awarded for a 3 year period.

### Procurement Information

(1) Removal/Reinstallation & Commissioning of Existing Equipment Allowing a supplier other than the original supplier to remove, transport and reinstall the existing equipment from the Jordanstown Campus to the Magee campus would result in technical difficulties in operation and maintenance of the equipment. (2) Purchase of Additional Equipment Regulation 32(5)(b) allows for the extension of the existing Carestream equipment. By purchasing the equipment via Medray, this will allow the University to achieve its teaching objectives of providing a clinical environment for training radiography students in line with an NHS environment.
