## Summary

The University of Leeds is conducting a procurement for "Emergency Lighting (Inspection & Testing)" within the emergency lighting equipment sector. The procurement method used for this tender is limited, specifically negotiated without the publication of a contract notice. The contract has been awarded to EATON ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS LIMITED, a supplier based in Doncaster, and is currently active with a value of £200,000. The procurement process was completed on 1st April 2022, and the work is to be carried out in Leeds, specifically for maintaining and updating systems related to Eaton’s emergency lighting solutions.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for suppliers in the emergency lighting and electrical systems sector, particularly those that focus on specialised maintenance and inspection services. Businesses that have the capacity to deliver technical solutions for monitoring systems, as well as those experienced in working with proprietary products, would be well-placed to compete for similar contracts in the future. The procurement process underscores the importance of technical expertise when competition is limited to specific organisations due to the nature of the equipment involved.

## Notice

There is requirement of maintaining & updating database for CGVision monitoring system & Sitemonitor system which is the Head End monitoring system that covers all Eaton's systems (Easicheck, CEAG-ZBS, CG Line+, LPStar, CGUAD, CG48, Loadstar AC/AC Static Inverters). Eaton can only work on their emergency lighting systems because they holds all intellectual property rights on their both products and replacement components.
