### Procurement Information

A further competition had been issued via an existing framework (procured via open procedure) for the supply of electricity however due to the current geopolitical situation, none of the suppliers on the framework were willing to enter into a fixed price contract and no bids were received by the further competition closing date of 28.02.2022. Due to the extreme and continuing market volatility, suppliers are unwilling to enter into contracts for the forseeable future. Under Electricity (Northern Ireland) Order 1992, Electric Ireland and PowerNI, as the incumbent suppliers, will continue to supply electricity to Ards and North Down Borough Council under a Deemed Contract. This arrangement will last until prevailing market conditions allow a new tendering exercise to be undertaken, or until 31st March 2023, whichever is soonest.
