## Summary

The North of England Commissioning Support (NECS), on behalf of NHS England - North West Health and Justice Team, has completed the procurement process for commissioning Mental Health Services in Her Majesty's Prisons. The procurement involved four lots across different prisons (Altcourse, Forest Bank, Risley and Thorn Cross, Styal) in the North of England. This process followed the open procedure to ensure transparency and fairness. The contracts were awarded to Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust on September 13th, 2022.

This tender presents significant business opportunities for organisations in the health services sector. Companies specialising in mental health and social work services would be well-suited to compete for contracts in providing these essential services to the prisons specified. The awarded contracts indicate a commitment to improving the well-being of the area and align with the priorities of the Contracting Authority, reflecting their focus on economic, social, and environmental aspects. Businesses interested in such procurements should monitor similar tenders in the healthcare industry for future growth potential.
