## Summary

The London Bus Services Limited (LBSL) has recently extended a contract for the provision of a bus communications and information system and related services. This procurement falls under the IT services category, specifically consulting, software development, and support services, with a total contract value of £261,376,785. The current procurement stage is the award following a tender initiated on 4 May 2022, with the contract extension lasting for a duration of 56 days. The award is related to ongoing services provided under the iBus system used by LBSL, with delivery located in the UK.

This contract extension presents significant opportunities for businesses in the IT and software development sectors, particularly those experienced in communications systems and transport technology. Companies specialising in network systems, database solutions, or custom software development would be well-suited to engage in the upcoming iBus2 procurement process, aimed at enhancing bus services across London. This initiative not only ensures continuity of critical services but also paves the way for innovative solutions to be integrated into London's public transport infrastructure.

### Lot Information

Contract for the supply of a bus communications and information system and related services

In 2005 LBSL awarded a 10-year contract to Siemens for the bus communication system known as iBus (the Contract). The Contract was novated to Trapeze in October 2009, when Trapeze purchased the relevant business. In 2015, the parties agreed to extend the Contract from May 2015 for up to 7 years, such that it would terminate in May 2022. Please see the description given at section II.2.4 above for further details of the Contract. The modifications will extend the Contract on its existing terms for a period of 8 weeks and are required so that Trapeze could can continue to provide the iBus services while the procurement of, and transition to, iBus2 services is completed. Please see the description given at section VII.2.1 for further details of the modifications.
