## Summary

The procurement process is initiated by Dumfries and Galloway Council, focusing on the development of an Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Concessions project. The tender, categorised under electrical installation work, aims to create a network of electric vehicle charging points across approximately 35-40 public car park locations in the UK. This project is currently in the planning stage, with a future notice date set for 1st August 2022, and a total project value estimated at £1,800,000. The council seeks a long-term partnership of 12 years, incentivising investment in the network, and will proceed via concession contracts, where the supplier will fund the works and provide revenue shares back to the council.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses operating in the renewable energy and electric vehicle sectors, particularly those specialising in electrical installations, construction, and maintenance services. Companies that can offer fast and efficient installation of charging hubs, electrical equipment, or related services will be well-suited to compete. The project's infrastructure investments and potential for long-term revenue streams make it an enticing opportunity for firms looking to expand their presence in the sustainable transport market.

## Notice

This project will develop a Electric Vehicle Charging Points (EVCP) network across approximately 35-40 public car park locations. The aim is to award to a single supplier and partner together to create a series of Charging Hubs, whereby groups of EVCP's are installed to cater for both visitor use and resident charging overnight. While we want to provide a minimum of 4 Fast (7kWh) EVCP's at each location, additional speeds may be required to cater for shorter stays and destination charging use. The individual contracts will be in form of concession contracts where the supplier will fund the entire works and provide a revenue share back to the Council. Government grants (namely On-street Charging Scheme or Transport Scotland) will be applied for as part of the project, but supplier responses should not be dependent on grants being awarded. A long-term partnership of 12 years is sought in order to incentivise suppliers to invest in the network and to ensure continuity for the years ahead.
