## Summary

The public procurement process titled "Strengthening Capacity for Pandemic Preparedness in Ghana and Bangladesh" is initiated by the Defra Network eTendering Portal, part of the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). This contract falls under the social research services category and was located in London, UK. The procurement method employed is a limited procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, currently at the award stage. The contract was signed on 4th October 2021, with a total value of £194,119, indicating ongoing relevance to pandemic preparedness efforts amidst ongoing global health challenges.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in social research and public health services, particularly those with expertise in pandemic preparedness and zoonotic diseases. Companies that focus on "One Health" initiatives, global health interventions, and capacity-building in low- to middle-income countries would be well-suited to compete. By leveraging this contract, such businesses can not only enhance their portfolio but also contribute to crucial international efforts in combating future disease outbreaks and strengthening health systems.

## Notice

The aim of this project is to develop detection, intervention and early research capability response measures to (re-) emerging zoonotic pathogens in low to middle income countries including, and in light of, the on-going Covid-19 pandemic and prepare for the next Disease-X.
