## Summary

The Home Office is currently planning a procurement process for "CAID Hosting and Associated Services," aimed at supporting the Child Abuse Image Database (CAID), a critical tool for law enforcement in the UK. This procurement, identified under the industry category of IT services, will involve the bidding of various lots, including secure hosting, networking solutions, and protective monitoring services. Key dates include an anticipated release of the Selection Questionnaire around September 2022, an Invitation to Tender (ITT) expected in November 2022, and a projected contract commencement in April 2023. Meetings will be facilitated via Microsoft Teams in late May and early June 2022 for potential suppliers to engage with the Home Office and discuss the services required.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for firms specialising in IT services, particularly those experienced in secure hosting, data management, and cybersecurity. Businesses offering expertise in the development of resilient IT systems, database management, and encryption technologies would be ideally positioned to compete for this contract. Suppliers aiming to assist in public safety and child protection initiatives may find a valuable niche within this tender process, particularly with the potential for contracts spanning three years, plus two one-year extensions.

## Notice

We are seeking to procure hosting and associated services for the operation of the Child Abuse Image Database (CAID). CAID is the UK national media and hash store that supports the identification of the victims depicted in indecent images and videos of children and offenders that possess, distribute, and produce such media. CAID originally went live in 2014 and continues to be expanded and improved through an ongoing transformation programme. The current contractual arrangement for CAID Hosting and associated services, is due to expire and in order to obtain value for money, CAID is looking at establishing contracts with relevant providers for the following services, and the intention is to divide the requirements into lots. The length of the contracts are anticipated to be three years with two possible single year extensions, i.e., 3+1+1 years. It is intended that: * Selection Questionnaire shall be issued approx. September 2022 * The Invitation to Tender (ITT) shall be issued approx. November 2022, * Contract Go-Live shall be approx. April 2023, and * The new service shall be in operations before September 2023. Procedure: The Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011 Restricted Procedure (with NDA completion). If you can see the following text anywhere within this PIN, it is not correct: "The contract(s) will be awarded without publication of a further call for competition.:" This is correct: "The Authority will issue a "call for competition" notice in due course.
