## Summary

Devon County Council has initiated a tender process for services titled "CP2229-22 Wave 3 Train4Tomorrow Skills Bootcamps," within the adult and other education services industry category. The procurement stage is currently active, with a deadline for submission by September 13, 2022. The tender aims to deliver flexible training programmes for adults in Devon, offering job opportunities and addressing the needs of both individuals and employers in various sectors, particularly in Digital Technology and Green/Blue and Natural Capital economies.

This tender opportunity by Devon County Council presents a chance for businesses, especially those involved in adult education services and training, to compete for contracts that align with the council's objectives of filling vacancies, driving productivity, and enhancing job opportunities. The procurement process utilises the Light Touch Regime (LTR), allowing multiple suppliers to participate and be assessed based on the quality of their submissions. Interested parties are encouraged to engage through the designated electronic submission platform, outlining their expertise in meeting the outlined criteria for potential contract awards across Devon.

## Notice

The overall aims of the Skills Bootcamps are: i) to deliver flexible training programmes lasting up to 16 weeks, based on employer / sector 'in-demand' skills needs which may be either regulated (i.e. qualification based) or non-regulated (e.g. based on alignment with industry standards) enabling adults to do training around work and other commitments, looking to gain work, additional responsibilities, or access new opportunities and will offer a guaranteed job interview (in the case of a new job) to individual participants on completion of the course. ii) to address the needs of adults (19+) who are full-time and part-time employed, unemployed, returning to work after a break or self-employed, and provide individuals with wider access to opportunities to retrain, update or formalise their skills or acquire specialist skills iii) to address the needs of employers and the wider economy, to deliver targeted interventions to meet short-medium term demand to fill vacancies and drive productivity. Interventions will help fill medium-higher level vacancies and bring individuals closer to better jobs, by linking them with line of sight to a job/ different role, additional responsibilities or new opportunities/contracts. We welcome all bids and are particularly interested in considering activity within Digital Technology and our Green/Blue and Natural Capital economies. Please note, we are also open to bids for Skill Bootcamp pilots in new eligible sectors i.e. Health Services, Financial Services, Hospitality and Creative Industries.
