Medical data acquisition unit and various medical research and teaching software packages.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Medical research and medical teaching data acquisition hardware and teaching and research software packages. These are used to train students registered on the MBChB programme (Medicine) across all 6 years as well as Biomedical students across 4 years. The software includes access to various content packs: Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, etc., (SaaS) and is used for research by medical and biomedical students; it will also be used in research-led teaching of these students.

### Procurement Information

The purchase is for high quality scientific hardware for teaching, linked with a cloud-based learning platform. The platform is populated with high quality, ready to use teaching content. Importantly, where the content does not match what we currently teach, or is absent, we have full editorial rights so can add or edit as required. Therefore, we can enhance the quality and quantity of the practical experiences our student cohort currently benefits from in the lab - and away from it. This is the only company that currently offers a cloud-based, GDPR compliant, learning platform with this combination of features. This purchase is in fact a follow-on subscription; there is no practical alternative to this platform and even if there were, given the University's investment in developing the content, the switching costs would be prohibitive.
