## Summary

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is currently seeking tenders for its "Commercial Vehicle and Plant Asset Service, Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (SIMAR)" project. This procurement falls under the services category, primarily focusing on the repair, maintenance, and associated services of vehicles and related equipment. The tendering process is at the active stage and will close on 29 June 2022 at 12:00. The contract, offered through an open procedure, is available for multiple lots, allowing suppliers to submit bids for one or several lots relating to commercial vehicles and plant assets. The initial contract period is set for three years, with the possibility of up to three additional one-year extensions.

This tender provides a significant opportunity for businesses in the vehicle maintenance and repair sector, particularly those specialising in commercial vehicle servicing and plant asset maintenance. Companies with expertise in delivering fast and reliable repair services, especially those capable of responding to emergency situations, will be particularly well-suited to compete. Given the emphasis on maintaining operational readiness for Defra's fleet, potential bidders should have the capacity to deliver minimal off-road time and disruption to ensure effective incident response throughout the year.
