Extension of Provision for Legacy Payroll System for Education Authority and Department of Education (Teachers' Payroll) for the period 1 April 2023 - 31 March 2026. Additional information: Contractor has agreed to allow the termination of the EA contract after a one year extension 31st March 2024 and DE after a two year extension 31st March 2025 with both covered for a full three year term to 31st March 2026, if the termination clauses are not activated.

### Procurement Information

The EA One Project is currently implementing the replacement solution for the existing payroll system. To date 4 of the existing EA payrolls have transferred to the new system. Following a Gateway Review recommendation to extend the overall EA One implementation plan to manage the risks involved with the cutover of these complex payrolls. The legacy payroll system is a completely bespoke payroll solution built purely for the needs of the EA and DE and their unique employment term & conditions (of which there are over 270 variations.) The replacement solution has been built to accommodate these complexities and will eventually replace the current system. Therefore, the current payroll system must stay in place until all payrolls of EA and DE have transferred to the new solution. There are no other suppliers in the market that could provide an alternative payroll solution while the transfer to the new solution completes.
