## Summary

The procurement process involves the UK Shared Business Services Limited (UK SBS) as the buying organisation, seeking an Independent Administrator for the UK Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). The contract is categorised under administration services and is located in the United Kingdom. Currently, the procurement stage is in the Award phase, with key dates including the extension of the contract from 16th June 2022 to 15th August 2022. The overall contract value, which includes previous variations, totals £518,048.78, with the extension not exceeding £105,000. This tender was sourced under a limited procurement method, specifically negotiated without a contract notice due to technical reasons related to the original supplier.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in consultancy and administration services, particularly those with experience in governance and transparency initiatives within the extractive industries. Companies that align with the standards of the EITI, focusing on good governance and ethical practices, would be well-suited to compete for future contracts, especially as the current provider, BDO LLP, is likely to be reassessed in an upcoming retender exercise through the Research & Insights Dynamic Purchasing System. Engaging in this sector can help businesses establish a foothold in a growing market that promotes responsible investment in natural resources.

## Notice

The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is the global standard for good governance in the oil, gas and mineral sectors. It is active in 56 countries worldwide and is an influential voice in shaping the future of these sectors. With senior engagement from government, industry and civil society at an international level, it provides a unique tool to champion good governance of natural resources globally and further the UK's strategic objectives.
