## Summary

The Greater Birmingham and Solihull Institute of Technology (GBSIoT) has completed an award for the provision of content creation and a new STEM based digital platform. The project consists of two lots: Lot 1 focusing on content creation and Lot 2 on platform development. The total budget for the project is approximately £200k, with delivery required by March 31, 2023. The buying organisation, GBSIoT, aims to engage, inspire, and support young people in accessing career opportunities in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, or Digital professions across the Birmingham and Solihull area.

This tender opportunity offers businesses a chance to participate in creating a digital platform to promote vocational skills opportunities related to STEM-based careers. Companies specialising in industry-specific software development services, advertising, e-learning, and programming could be well-suited to compete in this procurement process. With a focus on engaging under-represented and disadvantaged groups, especially young people, this project presents an opportunity to contribute to social inclusion efforts while delivering innovative solutions for GBSIoT's ambitious outreach objectives.

## Notice

GBSIoT wishes to build and develop a new digital platform to engage, inspire and support young people in particular, but not exclusively, to engage with, access and progress into, the exciting range of careers, apprenticeship and education opportunities available to them across the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, or Digital professions across the Birmingham and Solihull locality. The platform needs to be live in time for a March 2023 delivery and work will not commence before the end October 2022. Taking account of key specialisms and to ensure all proposals can be considered the requirement has been broken into two lots as follows: Lot 1: Content creation (for platform and to inform marketing strategy) Lot 2: Platform development

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Development of a digital platform to support accessibility to vocational skills opportunities related to STEM-based careers in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, or Digital professions. Acting as a 'one stop shop' it is envisaged that the platform will incorporate a range of different interactive technological and digital experiences and content. Critically young people will need to be involved in the development and the design of the digital, careers-based online platform which will engage, motivate, enable and facilitate access to clear opportunities for progression from school to high-level occupations. Acting as a 'one stop shop' it is envisaged that the platform will incorporate a range of different interactive technological and digital experiences and content. The platform will link to, and complement, other existing careers platforms. Consequently, GBS IoT anticipate that this requirement may require input from a range of specialist providers including video and VR technologies. All parties interested in feeding into this project should register interest via this PIN for early engagement. The platform needs to be live in time for a March 2023 delivery Additional information: The PIN has been issued to secure early engagement with suppliers to initiate discussions to ensure robustness of specifications and tender processes. All interested parties are invited to register details via email @ procurement@solihull.ac.uk immediately in order for further discussion to take place. In registering, please provide your name, contact details with a brief outline of how you feel your organisation could support this delivery for GBS IoT consideration. Tender process is expected to start in July 2022 with award currently planned for October 2022. All organisations wishing to tender will be required to register on the In-Tend Education Portal to access documents https://www.in-tendhost.co.uk/educationportal/aspx/Home

Content Creation

Content creation for the new STEM based digital platform. Imperative that content must clearly and effectively target the right populous and be compatible with the Platform (lot 2)Delivery required by 31 March 2023. Collaborative working with GBS IoT, the discovery phase partner (procured separately) and the platform developer tendered under Lot 2. This requirement is part of a larger GBSIoT project. As such the total budget for the development period ending 31.03.23 cannot be exceeded. An indicative budget of PS200k inclusive of VAT has been allocated for the content creation and platform development in the initial period. It is expected that the split between Lot 1 and Lot 2 will be approx. 50:50. In the event that the proposed solutions exceed the indicative guide budget the GBSIoT would still actively encourage a tender response to enable further dialogue to take place (subject to a full assessment of tendered responses and overall budget performance).

Renewal: The development period commences 31.10.22 and the 'go live' for the platform will be 31.03.23. Conditional on available funding the agreement term will be for a period of 21 months to 31.07.2024 with further options to extend in annual increments thereafter subject to satisfactory performance, budget availability and agreement of rates.
