## Summary

The Environment Agency is seeking to procure high voltage Control Operation, Maintenance, and Emergency Response (COMER) services for flood defence assets located in the North West of England. This planned tender, valued at £160,000, falls under the category of repair and maintenance services for electrical machinery and apparatus. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with key dates including a future notice expected on 25th July 2022. Interested parties should take note of the planned engagement event to be held via Teams, with options available around 8th July or the week commencing 11th July.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in electrical maintenance and engineering services, particularly those with expertise in high voltage systems. Firms that are well-versed in emergency response protocols, planned preventative maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations would be especially well-suited to compete for this contract. Engaging with this process could enable businesses to expand their operational portfolio within the environmental protection sector while contributing to the vital upkeep of critical flood defence infrastructure.

## Notice

The Environment Agency (EA) manages government investment to reduce flood risk and coastal erosion in England. Part of this investment is used to build, operate and maintain flood defence assets such as pumping stations, flood gates, raised embankments, flood basins etc. The Contract relates to high voltage (HV) Control Operation Maintenance and Emergency Response (COMER) provision at 2 of these flood defence assets and the planned preventative maintenance of (LV) ACBs at 1 other asset. All assets are located in the North West of England.
