## Summary

The Isle of Wight Council has recently completed the procurement process for an Approved Supplier List aimed at providing specialist homecare services across the Isle of Wight. The procurement, classified under health services, was initiated as an open procedure and is structured around four categories: specialist home-based care for dementia, end-of-life care, live-in care support, and nurse-led home-based care, all targeting individuals aged 18 and over. The contract has been awarded with a comprehensive plan running from 1 February 2021 until 31 January 2029, with a potential two-year extension. The relevant dates for this process include the contract signing on 23 May 2022, with successful suppliers including Newcross Healthcare Solutions and Bestchoice Global Ltd.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the health and social care sector, particularly those specialising in homecare services for vulnerable populations, including dementia patients and individuals needing end-of-life care. Companies well-equipped to meet the award criteria—covering mobilisation, methodology, quality assurance, and value for money—will find themselves in a strong position to compete. Small and medium enterprises with innovative care solutions, as well as larger providers with established service frameworks, could effectively contribute to this crucial aspect of healthcare, thereby expanding their footprint in the public procurement landscape.
