## Summary

The procurement process, initiated by Translink, focuses on the supply of railway ballast under the category of railway-track construction materials and supplies. This tender is currently in the planning stage with a deadline for submission set for 21 July 2022. The contract is aimed at establishing a multi-Supplier Framework that will support Translink's capital and maintenance programmes across its rail network in Northern Ireland. The framework is expected to run for an initial four years, with the possibility of extension for up to another four years. Interested suppliers are encouraged to engage with the project team, with initial discussions set to take place over the coming weeks.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the supply of aggregate to railway standards, particularly those that can demonstrate a proven track record in this field. Companies well-suited to compete include suppliers of railway materials and construction goods with the capacity to deliver across multiple geographic zones. With the potential for mini-competitions for larger work packages, this is an excellent chance for suppliers to establish long-term partnerships with Translink, fostering business growth in the transport infrastructure sector.

## Notice

Translink owns, operates and maintains the rail network in Northern Ireland comprising circa 300 miles of plain line track and 200 sets of switches and crossings. We wish to establish a multi-Supplier Framework for the supply of railway ballast to support the delivery of Translink's programme of capital and maintenance works. The framework will initially run for 4 years with options to extend up to a maximum of a further 4 years. The intention is for a number of geographic zones to be established across the Northern Ireland Railway network, with a Primary and Secondary Supplier appointed for each zone. Suppliers may be appointed to multiple zones. The default approach will be to allocate work directly to a Primary Supplier. The Client may also run mini-competitions between all Suppliers on the Framework for larger work packages if required. The project team have set aside some dates over the next 3 to 4 weeks to engage with those interested parties with proven tracked record in the supply of aggregate to railway standards. If this is of interest please response to Linda Brown contact details linda.brown@translink.co.uk to arrange a suitable date and time to engage with the Translink project team.
