## Summary

The Scottish Government, through Scotland Excel, has initiated a planning stage for a national commissioning project focused on Residential Rehabilitation services for alcohol and drugs. This tender, titled "Residential Rehabilitation (Alcohol and Drugs) - national commissioning," aims to develop a comprehensive approach to the commissioning and procurement of rehabilitation services. The process is currently in the research phase, with a deadline for responses set for 22 July 2022. The relevant industry category is rehabilitation services, and the activities will be executed across various locations in the UK, with important discussions anticipated to commence in early 2023.

This procurement process presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in providing rehabilitation, health, and social services. Companies that specialise in counselling, support services, and health care provision will find this tender particularly relevant, as the Scottish Government seeks to gather insights from both existing and prospective service providers. Engaging in this initial research phase will allow businesses to shape future commissioning arrangements, potentially leading to lucrative contracts in providing much-needed rehabilitation services to those in need.
