## Summary

The procurement process for the "Adult Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services" is managed by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, a regional authority aiming to enhance community health services under the category of miscellaneous health services. This contract involves providing pharmacological and psychosocial support for adults aged 18 and over in Sandwell who are at risk or facing impacts due to alcohol and drug use. The initiative is aligned with the National Drug Strategy and includes increased service capacity and quality funded by the Supplemental Substance Misuse Treatment & Recovery Grant. Originally launching on 1 February 2023, the contract was awarded to the supplier Cranstoun and is active until 31 January 2028 following modifications, with confirmed funding for additional services in 2026/27. The procurement was conducted through an open procedure, ensuring transparency and equal treatment.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those proficient in managing complex needs and conducting integrated service delivery. Companies offering employment support integrated with clinical treatment services and capable of meeting high-quality service delivery standards can greatly benefit from participating. The continuity of funding and integrated nature means that organisations with established infrastructure in health support and expertise in drug and alcohol rehabilitation, including employment support (IPS) and recovery improvement (DATRIG), are well-suited to contribute and enhance their scope of operations within the community healthcare framework specified by the procurement.
