## Summary

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has recently completed the procurement process for the "Kensington and Chelsea - Storage and Removal Services" contract. The contract, worth GBP 570,000, was awarded to Central Moves Ltd. This service falls under the industry category of storage and retrieval services. The contract is expected to run for three years from October 2023, with an option to extend for a further 2 years. Please note that the procurement method used was an open procedure.

This tender opportunity presents a chance for businesses involved in removals, storage, recycling, and furniture dismantling to expand their operations. Companies focusing on providing services to residents in both private and social rented housing accommodations would be well-suited to compete for this contract. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is the buying organisation overseeing this tender, aiming to offer storage services to vulnerable groups and those affected by housing challenges in the area.

## Notice

storage service is available for residents who approach the housing department for assistance. This includes residents who apply to the authority under the homelessness legislation and residents wishing to transfer from Council managed and/or other socially rented accommodation to more suitable accommodation. There may also be occasions where residents approach the Council from housing tenures other than those mentioned, where provision of the service will be made available. Residents using the service increasingly include the vulnerable and elderly, disabled residents, residents on the Accessible Housing Register and those affected by the Grenfell tragedy who require additional support to enable them to move. We would welcome proposals from Contractors in the business of providing the following services for residents living in the private sector and social rented housing accommodation: i. Removals and delivery ii. Storage - collection and delivery iii. Environmentally sound disposal or recycling of tenant's goods/waste that is no longer required iv. Dismantling furniture and reassembly thereafter. The Contract is anticipated to run for a period of three years from October 2023 with an option to extend for a further 2 years, taking the total contract duration to 5 years altogether. Please refer to the specification document for a comprehensive service list and description of the scope of service.
