## Summary

The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is planning a tender titled "H3AT- COTS Equipment (Valves, Filters and Instructions)," aimed at engaging potential equipment suppliers and SMEs for the provision of approximately 384 instruments to be used in the Tritium Plant at the new H3AT Facility, currently under construction at the UKAEA Culham site in Abingdon, UK. This procurement falls under the category of goods and is classified within the electrical machinery sector. A future notice for this tender is expected to be published on 3rd October 2022, with the procurement process being initiated through a competitive tendering method following supplier engagement. The primary procurement activities focus on ensuring adequate production capacity to meet project timelines and design specifications.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and other suppliers specialising in electrical equipment, measuring instruments, and radiation monitoring devices. Businesses capable of supplying components such as switches, meters, and analytical instruments would be particularly well-suited to compete. The engagement will enable suppliers to establish collaborations and contribute to cutting-edge fusion research, thereby fostering growth within the industry related to the handling of tritium and the development of new energy technologies.

## Notice

UKAEA wishes to engage with potential equipment suppliers and SMEs for the supply of approximately 384 instruments. These components will be for use in several sub systems that will make up the Tritium Plant located within the new H3AT Facility currently in construction on the UKAEA Culham site.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

UKAEA wishes to engage with potential equipment suppliers and SMEs for the supply of approximately 384 instruments. These components will be for use in several sub systems that will make up the Tritium Plant located within the new H3AT Facility currently in construction on the UKAEA Culham site. The H3AT Facility Tritium Plant consists of the following sub-systems: * Storage and Delivery System [SDS] * Tokamak Vacuum Simulation [TVS] * Hydrogen Chemical Purification System [HPS] * Hydrogen Isotope Separation System (deemed collaborative contract development) [ISS] * Water Detritiation System (deemed collaborative contract development) [WDS] * Atmosphere Detritiation System [ADS] * Chemical and Isotope Analysis of Gaseous Mixtures System [ANS] * Radiological and Hazardous Gas Monitoring System [RGM] The Facility is a tool of the H3AT Project. The missions of this project are: * Supporting Delivery of fusion as a commercial power source * Promoting industry, academia and research companies for work related to handling tritium and other radioactive isotopes * Providing capability for training of next generation of scientists and engineers for development of the new power sources Through this process we are looking to open up engagement with suppliers to ensure there is sufficient production capability and capacity to meet project timelines and design requirements. The scope of work as defined in this PIN can be broken down into smaller packages depending on supplier feedback. However, UKAEA will aim to minimise the number of independent packages to simplify the tendering process After the engagement exercise, UKAEA intend to issue an Invitation to Tender through the EU Supply and Find a Tender portals (replacement to Tenders Electronic Daily) to procure services for design and provision of equipment through competitively tendered contracts.
