## Summary

The procurement process is managed by NMRN Operations, who is seeking to purchase power tools for the conservation of HMS Victory. This project falls within the goods category and is classified under the CPV code for power tools. It is located in Portsmouth, United Kingdom, and is currently in the tender stage, with a submission deadline of 31 August 2022. The total value of the contract is £100,000, and the procurement follows an open procedure. The work encompasses a significant conservation effort aimed at preserving the ship for the next 50 years, beginning with phased works starting in 2022.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses involved in supplying power tools and workshop equipment, particularly those specialising in conservation-related tools. Companies with experience in maritime conservation, metalwork, and structural repairs would be ideally suited to compete for this contract. The continuity requirement for the two phases of procurement may favour suppliers who can provide consistent and reliable products over the long term, making this a promising avenue for business growth in the sector.

## Notice

The aim of the HMS Victory Conservation Project is to deliver a fully-conserved ship, able to survive in an open environment, and in a condition to survive for the next 50 years without major work beyond a programme of planned maintenance. This programme will commence in 2022. The conservation work includes the replacement of all external and some internal planking and structural timber elements. New power tools are needed to enable this work to take place. This work will include; - Stripping existing fittings and planking (externally and internally) - Repairs to hull frames - Producing laminated planking/large knees for external/internal for the hull - Fitting and fixing planking and large knees as well as other replacement items internally/externally - Fitting and fixing of iron work, as well as other similar fittings internally/externally to the ship. The first phase of the hull conservation project takes place in the ships midships for a minimum of 4 years before work continues to the Fore/Aft of the ship.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

This tender is split into two phases which will be awarded for both of them. As there is a firm requirement for the first phase of the conservation programme. Then when we move to the next phase of this we will require purchase of new power tools for this from the same awarded supplier for continuity.
