## Summary

The Satellite Applications Catapult is initiating a public procurement process for the "RTO Dynamic Framework for Space Based Solar Power" project, categorised under research and development services. This process is in the planning stage and interested parties are invited to express their interest by 2nd September 2022. The project aims to support a preliminary space-based solar power programme and is expected to be a multi-million-pound endeavour, although the exact value is yet to be determined. Additionally, the dynamic framework is structured into three lots and will involve delivery in Harwell, United Kingdom.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth in the space sector, particularly for businesses specializing in engineering services, technology development, and research and development consultancy. Firms that can offer expertise in areas such as project management, systems engineering, and integrated engineering design will be particularly well-suited to compete. The dynamic framework's reopening every six months will further create chances for new entrants and allow existing suppliers to refresh their capabilities, making it an attractive prospect for innovative companies in the field.

## Notice

The Satellite Applications Catapult is seeking to establish an RTO Dynamic Framework to support the delivery of a space-based solar power programme. This is in a preliminary the exploration phase and is anticipated to be a multi-million-pound endeavour. The exact value is not yet known, hence why we have not provided an estimate as part of this PIN.

### Lot Information

Programme and Engineering Management

As a research and technology organisation (RTO), the Satellite Applications Catapult is planning to let an RTO Dynamic Framework (DF) for the purpose of supporting a space-based solar power programme. The initial term of the DF is intended to be 3 years with options to extend built in. The DF is intended to be structured into three lots: 1) Programme and Engineering Management, 2) Development and Manufacturing and 3) Spacecraft and Mission Engineering. The intention is that every 6 months the DF will be reopened for new submissions, allowing for new entrants to the marketplace to join. At this time existing DF suppliers will have the opportunity to refresh their rate cards and background IP declaration but will otherwise require no further action to remain on the DF. The terms and conditions of the DF are being appropriately defined around the technical readiness levels of the expected activities to be undertaken. Lot 1 - Programme & Engineering Management: Project & programme management, Systems Engineering, Engineering & Design Management and Digital Design Management. Additional information: Additional background information is provided in the downloadable document "SBSP RTO DF Supplier Presentation" where you will find additional detail on what we are trying to achieve and how you can register your interest.
