## Summary

The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board is planning a tender titled "Safe Place/Crisis Bed Service Market Engagement Event" to procure unplanned care provision for individuals with a learning disability and autism. The procurement process is in the planning stage, with a market testing event scheduled for Tuesday 6th December at Oak House, Rotherham. The value of the contract is 1.0 GBP, with the tender process set to take place in March 2023, and services expected to start delivery in October 2023.

This tender opportunity from the NHS South Yorkshire ICB is aimed at providers interested in delivering crisis pathways for individuals with specific care needs. Businesses offering health services tailored to individuals with learning disabilities and autism would be well-suited to compete. Interested parties can engage with the ICB by attending the market engagement event and responding through the Atamis portal by the deadline of noon on the 5th December 2022, potentially leading to a competitive procurement process.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The safe place/crisis bed model is not a new model and has been used for mental health patients for a number of years locally and nationally. There are also a number of models that have been developed specifically for learning disabilities and autism across other Integrated Care Systems nationally that have proved very successful. These models support individuals when they are reaching crisis and in most cases prevent admission into an inpatient setting. They can also prevent breakdown of existing placements/homes by allowing a short admission to assess and reformulate care and support plans to enable them to move back into their existing homes.
The draft service specification will be circulated at the end of November for you to review. If you are unable to attend but would like the opportunity to speak to us about the content of the specification, please do still contact us as it may be possible to repeat this event using Teams if there is enough interest.
The financial envelope will be shared at the market engagement event, detailed above.
The tender process will take place in March 2023. With the expectation that services are mobilised and ready to start delivery in October 2023.
Please can you respond to this invitation via the portal, outlining if you wish to attend. There are a limited number of spaces, so we are limiting places to 2 per organisation.
