Bids are invited by Skills Development Scotland "SDS" from organisations who currently offer recognised qualifications at SCQF 6 or above in digital technology skills where there is an identified skills gap (e.g. software development, cyber-security, data) we are encouraging online delivery and who can demonstrate a successful track record in directly progressing learners to digital economy technologies careers. This tender relates solely to the development of 'professional' digital technology skills and qualifications relating to essential digital skills and digital literacy skills are excluded.

Digital Skills Pipeline

Bids are invited by Skills Development Scotland "SDS" from organisations whose who are experienced in offering accredited learning or vendor certification industry recognised qualifications in short, or intensive, or immersive learning or modular courses. Focus are in digital economy technology skills where there is an identified skills gap and who can demonstrate a successful track record in directly progressing their learners to further education or digital economy technologies careers. This tender relates solely to the development of digital technology skills and qualifications relating to essential digital skills and digital literacy skills are excluded.

In particular, the rapid development and integration of new technologies at work is having an unprecedented impact; creating talent shortages whilst also displacing existing roles. To thrive and remain competitive the Scottish economy requires a buoyant supply of digitally skilled individuals. And at Skills Development Scotland (SDS) we are working with industry and partners to ensure there are multiple career and learning pathways for our future talent pipeline, and those who want to career change into tech have the opportunity

Climate Delivery Programme

At a time when Scotland is facing the challenges of post-covid, Brexit and adjusting to increasing digitalisation, the Climate Emergency remains the single biggest long-term challenge. Reaching the target of zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2045, with a 75% reduction by 2030, will require transformational change across the economy and society, and will provide significant opportunities for: developing new, quality green jobs embedding green and circular economy skills increasing access to growing global green markets for Scottish businesses stimulating regional growth providing enhanced access to nature and the environment.
