## Summary

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) has initiated a tender for the Regional Strategic Model project, aimed at improving transport planning through IT services such as consulting and software development. The tender is currently in the planning stage with a deadline for responses to the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ_178) set for 30th June 2023 at 17:00. The project seeks to provide valuable insights into travel behaviours and patterns in the West Midlands region, with a budget of £2.5 million GBP.

The Regional Strategic Model tender by WMCA presents an opportunity for service providers experienced in IT services, software development, and consulting. The project, focusing on transport planning improvements, offers potential business growth for firms capable of delivering services to support the development of new mobility services. Businesses interested in the procurement should consider leveraging their expertise in the industry category of IT services and software development to compete effectively.

## Notice

The aim of this project is to provide a step-change improvement in transport planning across the West Midlands, allowing Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and its partner Local Highway and Transport Authorities to accurately consider comprehensive information and insights about the likely impacts of schemes and policies in the region. It should also provide valuable insight into existing travel behaviours and patterns which are drawn from different sources of basic observations of the transport system and homogenised through the RSM model environment into a single view of movements and demand. Such insights should be structured to provide intelligence which is relevant to a broad cohort of transport planners and that can be used to support the targeted promotion of new mobility services to end users (or modifications to existing services). The expectation is that the RSM will utilise a mixture of existing platforms and/or software products (which may be licensed from the RSM supplier or third parties), and bespoke software/services, or tooling, or processes and protocols.
