BEIS requires a service provider to manage group litigation, individual case litigation and claims for compensation against BEIS, on behalf of the former BCC. These are personal injury claims in relation to industrial diseases or injuries suchas Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, mesothelioma, asbestosis, pleural plaques (in Scotland), pleuralthickening, lung cancer, skin cancers, vibration white finger and deafness. In addition the service provider will be required to manage the Coal Industry Pneumoconiosis Compensation Scheme (CIPCS).

Renewal: A further 36 month extension will be optional after the initial 36 month contract
