## Summary

Kent County Council has planned a tender process for the provision of Community Support Services for Children, Young People, and Adults with Sensory Impairments. The Council aims to meet the needs of individuals with sensory impairments, providing various support services to help them live independently. The procurement process is at the planning stage, with a future market engagement meeting scheduled for the week commencing on 16th January 2023. Interested parties must submit their responses by 4th January 2023 to be considered for discussions later in January.

This tender from Kent County Council presents an opportunity for organisations experienced in providing sensory support services to individuals in the community. Businesses offering services related to social work and related services could find this opportunity particularly relevant. Kent County Council intends to procure these services through a future tender process, providing a chance for suitable candidates to contribute to the Council's strategy for commissioning services and support the rights of individuals to access high-quality service provision across the county.

## Notice

Kent County Council has a responsibility under the Care Act (2014) to meet the needs of people assessed as having eligible care and support needs, including people living with sensory impairments. To help meet some of these responsibilities, the Council currently purchase support services for children, young people, and adults with sensory impairments (hearing/ vision and dual impairments) that assist them to live independently and reduce isolation on an ad-hoc basis. The types of support purchased varies in response the needs of the people being supported and includes (but is not limited to) supporting adults with finances, correspondence, and accessing services and local facilities, and helping children and young people with communication skills and accessing wider communities.

Please express an interest in this opportunity on the Kent Business Portal, and use the template attached to the advert to provide your response to the following via the Messages facility: 'Outline your organisation's experience of providing sensory support to children, young people and adults in the community to improve wellbeing and encourage independence, along with the communication skills that your organisation has to support people's communication needs (e.g., BSL qualifications and experience)'' Please return your response to this question no later than 12 noon on 04 January 2023. We intend to invite suitable candidates for a discussion later in January. Future Procurement Process: Please note that interested parties will not be prejudiced or advantaged by any response or lack thereof to this Market Engagement advert, and a response to this advert does not guarantee any invitation to participate in any future procurement. Kent County Council intend to procure any services commissioned through a tender process and further information relating to this procurement will be published on Contracts Finder and the Kent Business Portal at a future date.
