The awarded contracts cover different regions, such as North East, South East, Central, Wessex, and Devon and Cornwall. The procurement process was a selective method using a Restricted procedure. The contracts have been signed in 2023 with varying values. The framework aims to provide maintenance services for flood defence assets such as lock gates, pumping stations, and river level maintenance weirs. The procurement process for the MEICA Maintenance Framework and EICR presents opportunities for businesses in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering services. The Environment Agency requires services to support the operation, repair, and maintenance of flood defence assets. Suppliers must commit to a 3-month mobilisation period and provide continuous improvement opportunities. The planned Lot structure allows for different types of works and services, offering potential for growth to businesses capable of meeting the specified requirements. ## Notice The Environment Agency require MEICA services (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Control and Automation) to support the operation, repair and maintenance of a variety of flood defence assets such as lock gates, pumping stations, river level maintenance weirs, and flow and level measurement systems. This procurement exercise is formed of six area based Lots to deliver planned and reactive maintenance, and minor project work. Each Lot will have it's own Framework Agreement and will be delivered by a single provider with a reserve Supplier in place. The initial term will be for three years with an optional one year extension based on performance. This framework will be available for use by the Environment Agency and no other authorities. This Notice is to alert the market of the award of the procurement activity. ### Lot Information Lot 2 - North East North East For all area based lots, work will include Planned Preventative maintenance, Reactive works and Minor project work (NOT Major project work). High voltage services to be included for Central only. Given the critical nature of the EA's assets, the Contractor will be required to: * provide a 24/7 call-out service within their framework area. * provide a two-hour response time within their framework area. * develop collaborative relationships both with the Client and with other Suppliers, through regular cross-supplier working groups/ communities of practice. * identify and propose ongoing Continuous Improvement opportunities. * commit to a 3-month mobilisation period. This is included in the post-award programme to enable the incoming supplier to upskill, familiarise themselves with the EA, the assets and sites, put in place the necessary resources, and develop their maintenance programme. Lot 3 - Central Central For all area based lots, work will include Planned Preventative maintenance, Reactive works and Minor project work (NOT Major project work). High voltage services to be included for Central only. Lot 4 - South East South East For all area based lots, work will include Planned Preventative maintenance, Reactive works and Minor project work (NOT Major project work). High voltage services to be included for Central only. Given the critical nature of the EA's assets, the Contractor will be required to: * provide a 24/7 call-out service within their framework area. * provide a two-hour response time within their framework area. * develop collaborative relationships both with the Client and with other Suppliers, through regular cross-supplier working groups/ communities of practice. * identify and propose ongoing Continuous Improvement opportunities. * commit to a 3-month mobilisation period.
