## Summary

The Emergency Department Well-Being & Home Safe Service procurement process involves the Welsh Government collaborating with NHS Wales Health Boards and Trusts. The process commenced with a tender initiation for services in the Welfare category, aimed at improving well-being and home safety for vulnerable individuals in emergency departments. The procurement method followed was an Open Procedure, having a contract period from 1st July 2023 to 31st March 2024, with possible extensions subject to fund approval.

This tender presents business growth opportunities for service providers experienced in delivering welfare services. Companies adept at supporting frail individuals and facilitating community services in emergency care settings will find this tender well-suited for competition. Locations for service provision include Cardiff, Carmarthen, and St Asaph, providing a scope for establishing impactful partnerships to enhance emergency department care services in the specified regions.

## Notice

Presentation at an Emergency Department often represents a person's initial experience within a hospital system and thus a unique opportunity to establish a positive first impression. These visits frequently occur during times of stress and uncertainty for a patient and their family, and the Emergency Department care environment is one that faces a myriad of challenges. In order to respond to these challenges, the Welsh Government, in collaboration with the National Collaborative Commissioning Unit and NHS Wales Health Boards and Trusts, has sought to establish an Emergency Department Well-being & Home Safe Service.
