## Summary

The NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract for the provision of 6 Monthly Stroke Reviews. The contract falls under the health services category and is part of the services main procurement category. The contracting process was performed through a limited procurement method with direct negotiations, with the awarded supplier being the Stroke Association. The contract is currently active, with a total value of £190,000. The Stroke Association will commence delivering the service from 1st April 2023 following a decision made in December 2022.

This contract can create business growth opportunities for healthcare providers specialising in post-stroke care services. Businesses that have experience in delivering post-acute stroke care and have a strong working relationship with therapy teams could be well-suited to compete for similar opportunities in the future. As the service will target specific patient cohorts for 6-month reviews post-stroke, companies with expertise in personalised patient care and rehabilitation services may find this tender particularly relevant. The focus on smooth transitions and familiar pathways within the healthcare sector presents an opportunity for businesses to offer innovative solutions that enhance patient experience and outcomes.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Stroke Association currently delivers post-acute stroke care in the Wakefield District and has built up a strong working relationship with the local therapy team, from whom it receives 200 referrals per annum. These 200 referrals represent the patient cohort that the Commissioner is specifically seeking to target to ensure that each is offered a 6-month review, post-stroke. Individuals within this cohort are most likely to require, and value, a 6-month review, as they are those receiving post-acute care to aid their recovery from a stroke.
