Due to having unsuccessful bids from the Sexual Health Services tender in 2024, the Authorities have re-issued the contract to the incumbent provider for a further 12 months

Online Sexual Health Service

The service will deliver and manage a secure and accessible, online sexual health service that facilitates a comprehensive sexual health assessment, remote STI and HIV home sampling and diagnosis test kit, without the need to see a healthcare practitioner for; sexually active individuals aged 16 years and over residing in Leicestershire and Rutland. The provider will deliver 24 hours a day accessible service, capable of processing high volumes of requests simultaneously. Service aims are: to increase knowledge of risks associated with sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and refer to appropriate services - to help contribute to a reduction in the rate of unplanned pregnancies, particularly in under 18s - reduce late diagnosis of HIV and undiagnosed HIV - provision of STI testing, (some treatment) and partner notification - increase the uptake of HIV testing - to enable providers to be active participants in an integrated multi-disciplinary service to help ensure easy and swift access to advice Service objectives include: - delivery of a user friendly, non-judgemental, client centred and confidential online sexual health service - Identify: - Eligibility - Risk - Vulnerabilities - Need - Appropriate testing - Any required referrals to an alternative/additional service provider/s - provide rapid and easy access to STI testing (and some treatments) - provide rapid easy access to contraception

Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) Service

This opportunity will be an open procedure under the Light Touch Regime, and the Authorities welcome tenders from consortium or sub-contracting arrangements for this procurement opportunity. This service is required to deliver the provision, fitting, monitoring, and removal of IUDs, IUSs and SDIs for contraception purposes for women of Leicestershire and Rutland. The service will provide a number of clinics across the geography of the counties and ensure consistent and timely delivery of long-acting reversible contraception. Service aims are: - improve sexual health outcomes - improve access to long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) to Leicestershire and Rutland residents as part of a range of contraceptive options - to raise awareness of the benefits of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) by providing high quality advice, support and information on the full range of contraception methods to all those on or seeking contraception - to increase knowledge of LARC and mainstream contraception amongst healthcare professionals - to increase knowledge of risks associated with sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and refer to appropriate services - to help contribute to a reduction in the rate of unplanned pregnancies, particularly in under 18s. - to enhance professional practice - to enable Providers to be active participants in an integrated multi-disciplinary service to help ensure easy and swift access to advice - to ensure that the availability of post-coital IUD fitting for emergency contraception be more adequately provided as another means of reducing unintended conceptions The service objectives are: - delivery of a user friendly, non-judgemental, client centred and confidential LARC service - be a key partner in the local network of contraceptive and sexual health services to help ensure easy and swift access to advice This lot will be awarded as a contract to a single provider. Subcontract arrangements are permitted.
