## Summary

The University of Strathclyde initiated a tender process for a Minor Works Framework aimed at supporting various construction activities, including minor capital and maintenance works across accommodation, residences, and laboratory environments. The framework was set to involve works valued between GBP 0 to 6,000,000, although projects exceeding this value could still be considered. The tender, covering the construction work industry under the CPV code 45000000, was to be conducted using a selective procurement method, specifically a restricted procedure, with potential amendments along the compliant lines of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015. Initially active, the status of this tender evolved to "cancelled" as of the latest available information dated 24th September 2025. Glasgow Caledonian University was also participating in this framework, indicating a broader collaborative educational institution engagement.

This business opportunity presents substantial potential growth avenues for companies proficient in construction and building services. Firms with experience in refurbishment and fit-out projects, especially within educational institutions or complex building environments such as listed buildings and laboratories, are ideally positioned to benefit. The framework initially anticipated inviting multiple participants, which fosters competitive collaboration and innovativeness among diverse business entities. With evaluation criteria placing 60% weightage on the technical aspect and 40% on pricing, businesses with superior technical expertise coupled with competitive pricing strategies could significantly leverage this opportunity. Additionally, engaging in this framework could enhance visibility and foster long-term contractual relations with prominent universities, facilitating further industry recognition and market presence.
