The procurement falls under the goods category and is at the tender stage. The contract involves the provision of oscilloscopes for the NQCC project, aimed at developing quantum computers for end users. The location of the procurement is in the United Kingdom, with the contracting authority based in Swindon. The contract value is £600,000, with a contract period of 1080 days. The procurement method is an open procedure, and the award has been made to Keysight Technologies UK Ltd.

This tender for high-frequency oscilloscopes presents business growth opportunities for suppliers specialising in providing advanced technical equipment. Companies proficient in developing and supplying sophisticated technology solutions, particularly in the field of quantum computing, are well-suited to compete for this contract. The nature of the project, involving the development of quantum computers based on superconducting quantum bits, requires innovative suppliers with expertise in developing cutting-edge technological solutions. The opportunities provided by this tender align with the UK's focus on advancing quantum technologies and offer a platform for businesses to contribute to technological innovation and advancement in the field of quantum computing.

## Notice

The UK's National Quantum Computing Centre aims at building quantum computers which will be made available to end users. Among others, one of the hardware platforms we are developing is based on Superconducting (SC) quantum bits (qubits), which form part of a superconducting quantum state circuit. Superconducting circuits are macroscopic in size and individually form a quantum state, but have quantum properties based upon quantized energy levels, superposition of states, and quantum entanglement, all of which are more commonly associated with atoms.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The NQCC is the first UKRI Centre funded directly by UKRI and is dedicated to accelerating the development of quantum computing by addressing the challenges of scaling - technological and user adoption. The NQCC delivers quantum computing for the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme (NQTP), which has already established the UK as a quantum technology global leader. Through its combined PS1bn of public and private sector investment over 10 years (2014-2024), the programme will develop and deliver quantum technologies across the areas of sensing, timing, imaging, communications and computing. The NQCC is pursuing two primary platforms of quantum computing, one based on superconductors and one based on trapped ions, as these are currently the most mature. The centre will be headquartered in a purpose-built facility at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC)'s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory Campus in Oxfordshire. The centre is due for completion in mid 2023. Ahead of the completion of the centre, a temporary facility is planned for 2022, for which these multiple oscilloscopes are required.
