## Summary

The procurement process led by Hampshire County Council aims to establish a comprehensive framework for accident and repair services for Hampshire Constabulary's fleet. It covers the repair, maintenance, and associated services of vehicles and related equipment across three lots: cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs), heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), and mobile SMART repairs. The procurement has advanced to the awarding stage, with contracts being signed as of 2nd September 2024. This framework agreement, valued at up to £2.5 million over four years, is executed through an open procedure and is accessible to several suppliers. The buying organisation, Hampshire County Council, is based in Winchester (UKJ3 region) and the services are targeted towards maintaining operational readiness of the constabulary's vehicles throughout Hampshire.

This procurement presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in vehicle repairs and maintenance. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) particularly benefit from this framework due to the structured lot system and overall procurement value. Automotive repair firms with capabilities in handling both standard and specialized repair jobs such as SMART repairs and welding to accredited standards stand to gain. Those businesses that offer mobile services or possess the infrastructure to maintain a fleet of HGVs will find this an attractive opportunity to secure steady work over a significant period. Additionally, this procurement can enhance their profile and experience in handling contracts for public law enforcement agencies, potentially leading to further opportunities in the public sector.
