## Summary

Suffolk County Council has completed the procurement process for "Mental Health Supported Housing" services. The procurement involved the provision of supported accommodation units for planned and unplanned tier 2 support. The services aim to help those with severe mental health problems recover, sustain recovery, and maintain independent living skills. The procurement method used was a limited procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. The council intends to direct award a 12-month contract (with an option to extend for a further 12 months) to the incumbent suppliers. Market engagement for a new supported housing model is planned to start in the second quarter of 2023, with the procurement process expected to begin in the third quarter of 2023.

This procurement presents business growth opportunities for organisations specialising in health and social work services, particularly those experienced in providing mental health support and accommodation services. Businesses that can offer tier 2 support with a focus on helping individuals recover, maintain independence, and succeed in being independent would be well-suited to compete in this tender. The contracts have been awarded to different suppliers for various regions such as Ipswich East, Waveney, West Suffolk, and others, indicating opportunities for multiple service providers to participate in delivering the needed support services.
