## Summary

The National Health Service Commissioning Board, also known as NHS England, has initiated a tender for the Community Pharmacy COVID-19 Vaccination Programme Phase 5 for 2023/24. The procurement falls under the health services category and aims to establish local enhanced services arrangements with community pharmacies to boost COVID-19 vaccination capacity. The tender involves providing COVID-19 vaccination services at designated sites, with a contract value of £10.06 GBP. The procurement method is an open procedure, with a tender period ending on 31st March 2023 and the award period starting on the same day in the United Kingdom.

This tender presents an opportunity for community pharmacies to expand their services by participating in the COVID-19 vaccination programme. Businesses in the health services sector, especially those with experience in providing community health services, are well-suited to compete for this tender. As the NHS aims to enhance vaccination coverage and improve vaccine uptake, businesses that can meet the requirements outlined in the tender documentation and have the necessary qualifications will be in a strong position to secure a contract with NHS England.

NHS is a global leader in achieving high levels of vaccination coverage, and this has been reflected in a hugely successful COVID-19 vaccination programme. Community pharmacy has played a critical role in the success of the COVID-19 vaccination programme. Through their strong relationships in local places and neighbourhoods, community pharmacies have helped to tackle vaccine inequalities and improve vaccination take-up.
The fifth phase of the COVID-19 vaccination programme will offer booster (with additional vaccine) for those at the highest risk, to maintain protection against the risk of severe illness, and continue to offer initial vaccinations to those Patients who did not take up or were previously not eligible to receive vaccination in previous phases.
