## Summary

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has awarded contracts for the "Digital Engineering Augmentation" project in the services sector. The procurement process involved a selective method with a competitive procedure and negotiation. The BBC sought partners to augment its engineering capacity in the UK through Framework Agreements divided into two Lots, with a total maximum estimated spend of £75 million over five years. The first Lot focused on onshore partners for individual roles, while the second Lot sought nearshore partners for full agile development teams. Spyrosoft Ltd and Accenture UK Ltd were awarded contracts for Lot 1 and Lot 2, respectively. The awarding authority reserves the right not to award a contract and may cancel the procurement process at any stage.

The "Digital Engineering Augmentation" project by the BBC offers significant business growth opportunities for software programming and consultancy services providers. Businesses well-suited to compete include those specialising in software engineering, test engineering, architecture, and dev ops services. The procurement process provides a clear pathway for established suppliers to secure contracts through competitive negotiation and quality assessment criteria. With a strong focus on operational efficiency, delivery capabilities, support, culture, and cost, the BBC aims to establish long-term partnerships to meet its digital engineering needs. The contracts have been signed, and suppliers are active, signalling a robust commitment to project delivery and growth within the services industry.
