To help meet some of these responsibilities, the Council currently purchase support services for children, young people, and adults with sensory impairments (hearing, vision and dual impairments) that assist them to live independently and reduce isolation on an ad-hoc basis. The types of support provided varies in response the needs of the people being supported and includes (but is not limited to) supporting adults with finances, correspondence, and accessing services and local facilities, and helping children and young people with communication skills and accessing their wider communities. The Council are intending to procure a framework of providers to deliver contracted support services for people with hearing, vision and dual sensory impairments later this year and will be holding a remote (Zoom) session on the 8th June 2023 10:30 - 11:30am to provide information regarding the commissioning plans and gather feedback from the market. A British sign language interpreter will be present for the session.
