## Summary

Kent County Council is planning a procurement process for Community Support Services for Children, Young People, and Adults with Sensory Needs. The main procurement category is services in the social work services industry. A remote session will be held on 8th June 2023 for market engagement. Interested parties must submit an expression of interest by 6th June to attend. The future procurement process will involve a tender to procure support services for people with sensory impairments.

This opportunity created by the tender is suitable for businesses providing support services for children, young people, and adults with sensory impairments. Businesses in the social work services industry without accommodation are well-suited to compete. Kent County Council, as the buying organisation, aims to procure a framework of providers through a planned tender process. The procurement will present opportunities for businesses to deliver contracted support services and potentially grow their presence in this sector.

## Notice

Kent County Council has a responsibility under The Care Act (2014) and to meet the needs of adults assessed as having eligible care and support needs, and under The Children's Act 1989 and Child and Families Act (2014) to meet identified needs within a child's Child in Need Plan, including people living with sensory impairments. To help meet some of these responsibilities, the Council currently purchase support services for children, young people, and adults with sensory impairments (hearing, vision and dual impairments) that assist them to live independently and reduce isolation on an ad-hoc basis. The types of support provided varies in response the needs of the people being supported and includes (but is not limited to) supporting adults with finances, correspondence, and accessing services and local facilities, and helping children and young people with communication skills and accessing their wider communities. The Council are intending to procure a framework of providers to deliver contracted support services for people with hearing, vision and dual sensory impairments later this year and will be holding a remote (Zoom) session on the 8th June 2023 10:30 - 11:30am to provide information regarding the commissioning plans and gather feedback from the market. In order to register your interest in attending and be sent the joining details, please submit an expression of interest via the advert on the Kent Business Portal by 6th June. A British sign language interpreter will be present for the session. Future Procurement Process: Please note that interested parties will not be prejudiced or advantaged by any response or lack thereof to this Market Engagement advert, and a response to this advert does not guarantee any invitation to participate in any future procurement. Kent County Council intend to procure any services commissioned through a tender process and further information relating to this procurement will be published on Contracts Finder and the Kent Business Portal at a future date. Interested providers are advised to create a supplier profile on the Kent Business Portal to receive notifications.
