The East Road Building (ERB) is part of the British Museum's overall South West Energy Centre (SWEC) Programme. The East Road Building project comprises the replacement of the existing East Road building located in the north-east corner of the Bloomsbury site with a new building, circa 680sm, spread over basement, ground and first floors. The East Road building will primarily provide space for site-wide central plant room as well as workshops spaces for carpentry, electrical and locksmiths and maintenance facilities; and welfare, changing and WC facilities.
