## Summary

The Wales And West Utilities has awarded a contract for a "Multi-vector waste stream analysis for electrolytic fuel production hubs" under a limited procurement method without prior publication. The procurement process focused on research consultancy services within the services category. The procurement stage has been completed with an active award as of the signing date of July 31, 2023. The analysis included detailed site selection criteria development, engagement with stakeholders and authorities, and refining engineering proposals and cost estimates.

This tender presents business growth opportunities for companies specializing in research consultancy services, particularly in the field of waste stream analysis for electrolytic fuel production hubs. Businesses experienced in site selection, stakeholder engagement, engineering proposals, and cost estimation would be well-suited to compete in this procurement. The contract with the Wales And West Utilities offers a chance for companies to contribute to the Integrated Hydrogen Transport Hubs project and be part of progressing from the Alpha to Beta phase of delivery.

## Notice

The Alpha phase of the Integrated Hydrogen Transport Hubs project will build on the work undertaken within the Discovery phase by continuing to develop the bespoke site selection criteria with a view on physical deliverability. This detailed analysis will further enable the down-selection of a preferred site or sites to progress into detailed design. An engineering proposal will then be refined through engagement with statuary undertakers and permitting authorities to understand site specific constraints and risks. OEM's will be consulted to further refine CAPEX and OPEX costs associated with delivery, and propose the commercial and regulatory operating model in preparation for a legally binding agreement. The Beta phase delivery programme will then be designed in line with proposed delivery partners and the project supply chain, based on the findings of the work completed in Alpha.
