Lot 1

NTL lease 10 2-car Eversholt Class 158/9 units on a dry lease. NTL are responsible for procuring new engines and gearboxes as required through the lease. The supplier of overhauled powertrain components is LH (A division of Wabtec UK). Eversholt do not hold a float of powertrain components for their own fleet, and so Porterbrook allow NTL to utilise their float to support powertrain changeouts.

Options: 2 year optional extension

LH are the only supplier for the powertrain components in question. (Porterbrook) have a SMA with LH precluding any third party from undertaking the overhauls. LH are the supplier with a SMA for this work and have been the provider of these spares since the 158/9s came into operation. We therefore do not have alternative options which we could utilise.
