## Summary

The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract to Pearson Engineering Ltd for the repair and refurbishment of Specialist Front End Equipment (FEE) and Obstacle Marking Equipment (OME) fitted to Heavy Track Platforms. This seven-year contract, valued at £350,000, pertains to services classified under the "Repair and maintenance services of motor vehicles and associated equipment" category. Initial activities are set to take place at Babcock Land Defence Limited's facility in MOD Donnington, Telford (UKG21). The procurement has advanced to the award stage as of 10th January 2025, following a limited negotiation process without the publication of a contract notice due to the exclusive technical expertise required.

This contract presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for companies with specialised capabilities in vehicle repair and maintenance, especially within the defence sector. The unique technical requirements and the absence of competition due to Pearson Engineering's proprietary knowledge make this tender highly specialised. Businesses in the defence industry or those considering expansion into equipment maintenance and refurbishment for military applications would benefit from understanding the specifics of such a high-value and long-term contract.
