## Summary

The Northern Ireland Assembly Commission recently awarded a contract for the Replacement of the Wireless Network within Parliament Buildings to Softcat PLC. The contract, initiated through a tender process, sought to completely replace the existing Wi-Fi network infrastructure within Parliament Buildings. The procurement method used was an Award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. The procurement stage is now complete, with Softcat PLC being the active supplier, having signed the contract on 31st July 2023. The contract is valued at £350,000 GBP.

This tender provides an opportunity for businesses in the IT services sector, specifically those offering consulting, software development, and internet support services. Companies experienced in implementing enterprise wireless network solutions and capable of ensuring internet access for approximately 600 users in a secure and resilient manner would be well-suited to compete for such tenders. The contract, focusing on replacing the current wireless LAN and providing seamless connectivity for various internet protocols, requires a supplier who can handle the task efficiently while causing minimal disruption to the Assembly’s day-to-day operations.
