## Summary

The Association of North East Councils Limited has completed the award stage for the NEPO301 Electricity Supply Framework, focusing on the procurement and supply of electricity to various sites including Half Hourly (HH), Non-Half Hourly (NHH) sites, and street lighting. This procurement, classified under Petroleum products, fuel, electricity, and other sources of energy, culminates on 31st March 2025. The awarded contract, valued at £750,000,000, was signed on 25th February 2025 with EDF Energy Customers Limited as the sole supplier under a competitive procedure with negotiation. The agreement includes provision for renewables such as Power Purchase Agreements and cleaner, greener energy options, delivering approximately 450GWh annually across 6400 sites in the UK.

This tender offers substantial business growth opportunities for suppliers in the energy sector, particularly those capable of providing comprehensive electricity supply and management services. As a sole supplier framework, businesses equipped with high-quality service offerings, social value considerations, and competitive pricing will be well-suited to compete. The call-off contracts under this framework are ideal for suppliers looking to secure long-term engagements with regional authorities, local councils, educational institutions, and public utilities. Talented enterprises in data aggregation, collection, and automatic meter reading services also stand to benefit greatly from the extensive scope and recurring demands of this framework agreement.
