## Summary

Derry City and Strabane District Council is seeking suitable contractors for the provision of materials processing services for the recycling of source-segregated materials gathered from various recycling centres and points. This tender process involves multiple lots, including Green Waste, Cemetery and Municipal Parks Ground Waste, and Plasterboard. Each lot represents a distinct recyclable material category for which contractors can submit bids individually or collectively. The entire procurement is conducted under the open procedure, and contracts awarded will initially span three years with options to extend for two additional one-year periods each. The total contract value approximates £1,380,000. Submissions must be made electronically through the etendersNI platform by 4 April 2025, with the anticipated start date for contract awards on the same day.

This procurement presents a substantial opportunity for businesses engaged in waste management and recycling services. By participating in multiple lots, companies can increase their scope of work and potential revenue streams. Small to medium-sized enterprises specialised in green waste management, plasterboard recycling, and other refuse services are well-positioned to compete for these contracts, leveraging their niche expertise to meet the Council's statutory recycling requirements. Engaging in this tender can aid in scaling operations, enhancing business portfolios, and establishing longstanding relationships with a key regional authority.
