## Summary

Cardiff University has completed the procurement process for the "Estates Minor Works Framework," covering maintenance work involving the University's varied property portfolio across mechanical, electrical, and fabric disciplines. The framework was divided into four lots: Mechanical, Electrical, Fabric, and Combined Works, each valued between £10,000 and £200,000. The process employed an open procurement method. The engagement phase included a supplier day on 16 October 2023, with the deadline for registering interest being 12 October 2023. Located in Cardiff, the project aims at maintenance across the University's premises, summarily enhancing the fabric and infrastructure through planned works packages. The completion of this framework signifies a key milestone in Cardiff University's strategic maintenance programme.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities for contractors specialising in the fields of mechanical, electrical, and fabric maintenance, with a potential total contract value of £6,000,000. Well-suited businesses are those with proven capabilities in construction and building maintenance across various trade disciplines, and those able to provide high-quality work while conforming to budget constraints. The requirement for assuming the role of Principal Designer and Principal Contractor for combined works highlights opportunities for firms experienced in managing multifaceted projects. Businesses could benefit from the recurring nature of such contracts, offering prospects for long-term engagement with Cardiff University through the framework agreement's potential renewals.
