## Summary

The UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) is seeking suppliers for a procurement process related to the purchase of X-ray detectors for high flux X-ray applications. The tender, titled "UKRI-3353 CdZnTe Detectors with Fine Pitch Pixel for High Flux X-Ray Applications", falls under the goods category and has a total contract value of £500,000. The procurement method is an open procedure, and the contracting authority has identified the main procurement category as "Detection and analysis apparatus." This opportunity, launched on September 18, 2023, is now at the active stage, with a deadline for tender submissions set for October 24, 2023.

This procurement presents a lucrative opportunity for suppliers specialising in detection and analysis apparatus, particularly those with expertise in X-ray detector materials. UKRI aims to work with small or medium enterprises (SMEs) for this project, with a focus on technical/quality criteria (60%) and price (40%) for selection. The buying organisation, UKRI, based in Swindon, UK, will require a variety of detectors over the next 3 years to support the development of new readout electronics. Interested businesses should consider the detailed requirements for the detectors and the specific technical and quality benchmarks set by UKRI for successful participation in this competitive tender process.

## Notice

STFC require a X-ray detector materials with high stopping power at energies up to 100keV and can operate at very high X-ray fluxes of 108 ph/mm2/s and higher, without polarisation, to meet the needs to the next generation of X-ray science facilities. A selection of detectors are required over the next 3 years to support the development and of a new generation of readout electronics and to inform the a final detector system design.
