## Summary

The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is conducting a market engagement exercise for an Electronic Prescribing System for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy. The Trust aims to replace current prescribing methods, enhance patient safety and outcomes, and improve staff efficiency across its hospital sites in Birmingham and the region. Suppliers interested in providing relevant solutions should respond to the questionnaire by the deadline of Monday 30th October 2023.

This opportunity in the medical software package industry presents a chance for businesses offering electronic prescribing systems to compete for a contract with the Authority. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with the future notice date set for 1st January 2024. Businesses in the healthcare technology sector, particularly those with experience in providing SACT electronic prescribing systems, are well-suited to participate and potentially secure this contract for the Trust.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (the "Authority") is conducting market engagement in relation to its requirement for a Electronic Prescribing solution for System Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust ("UHB") is a large specialist teaching hospital that runs the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB), Birmingham Chest Clinic, Heartlands Hospital (BHH), Good Hope Hospital (GHH), Solihull Hospital (SH) and various community services across the region.

The Trust is looking to source a solution which replaces the current ways of working for prescribing systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) for patients attending its four hospital sites. The aim is to procure a designated SACT electronic prescribing system that will provide a robust, up to date and safe prescribing platform for patients requiring SACT and in doing so reduce prescribing errors, eradicate paper prescriptions, improve operational performance, improve patient safety and outcomes, and improve ways of working for staff.

Suppliers who are able to offer solutions relevant to this requirement are invited to express an interest and respond to a market engagement questionnaire. Further details on how to do this are contained within the additional information section of this notice.
